About

I am an artist located in Guelph, Ontario, who specializes in highly realistic portraits of pets and wildlife. I originally moved to Guelph in 2008 with plans to attend the veterinary college, but got sidetracked by my fascination with animal behaviour. After finishing my degree in Animal Science, I completed a Master’s in Animal Behaviour and Welfare at the University of Guelph.

In 2019 I became a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, and enjoying teaching owners and their dogs how to better communicate and understand one another. Dogs and dog training is something I’m very passionate about, and I love letting that shine through in my art.

Adlaya’s Art was founded in 2016, as hobby that has since turned into something more. It started with drawing a few friend’s animals in exchange for lunch, and has since grown into a full-time occupation.

My own animals are a constant source of inspiration and cuddles. I currently share my life with a rambunctious Australian Shepherd named Zero, as well as two cats, Tiiah and Scoop. With Zero, I have competed and titled in numerous dog sports, included competitive obedience, rally obedience, scent detection, tricks, and sprinters. We are hoping to compete in herding, tracking, and agility in the coming year. Other pastimes include reading, video games, and watching anime. I’m far too obsessed with Dungeons and Dragons, and currently play in multiple campaigns.
